A third group of hostages was freed from Gaza Strip, including a 4-year-old American girl whose parents were killed in Hamas raids on Israel, and is raising prospects for more captives to be set free and truce to be extended. The hostages, seized by Hamas during the October 7 raid, were released in exchange for Palestinian prisoners held by Israel. As both Israel and Hamas have agreed to extend the truce, late Sunday, there were complications on the release. The fate of the prisoners in Gaza showed the desperate need for help. Many people were lacking in basic supplies and had been facing a grim struggle for survival. Even as the truce took hold, efforts were made to bring back hostages and aid started flowing into Gaza.
