A new preview for the upcoming spin-off series, Rick and Morty: The Anime, was recently revealed, giving fans a glimpse into what to expect.

Dropping a 1-minute teaser clip, Adult Swim offered a sneak peek into the upcoming special. The clip expanded on the previously revealed opening title sequence, hinting at what could be a major plot point for the anime adaptation.

In the clip, Summer warns Rick of a space distortion as he flies near it in his spacecraft, only to realize he’s surrounded by alternate-universe versions of himself. The clip’s tension leaves viewers intrigued about the tone of the anime version.

The anime version, featuring voice cast members Yōhei Tadano, Keisuke Chiba, Manabu Muraji, Akiha Matsui, and Jun Irie, promises to match the energy of the original series. Director Takashi Sano assured fans that the anime would retain the essence of the original while offering a unique Japanese twist.

The series will have its own timeline and is a fun, independent project despite using the same main characters. Notable Japanese voice actors and renowned art directors and designers have also worked on the project.
